USB is an end to end universal bus architecture, In the days of Windows 98, we use to data transfer by CD’s and floppy disk. Since we now have Windows 7 and things have been changed from disk to USB. Even after USB becomes common there was no obligation to use USB for operating system installation. But using USB for OS installation is possible now.
There are several advantage using USB over CD such as,
- CD’s are little more expensive
- You don’t need to use any program to write/copy data
- USB Data transfer speed is much faster than CD
- USB’s are absolutely portable
- Much faster access time during usage
Earlier I use to search for third party tool to make USB bootable so that I can make operating system installation from USB. Microsoft has made my work little easier by providing Windows 7 usb dvd tool.
You need to have minimum 4GB USB flash to use Windows 7 usb dvd tool.
Download Windows 7 USB/DVD tool. please note this tool accepts only iso file, so get your image ready if Windows 7 file is in different dvd image format.
1. Install Windows 7 USB/DVD tool
2. Step 1 will create an desktop icon, open it to proceed for next set up window.
3. Choose media type as USB device
4. Select USB device (minimum 4 GB Flash) with Windows 7 ISO image and press begin copying
5. Window 7 UBS/DVD tool will start creating bootable USB (backup your USB data and make USB empty)
6. In the next 15-20 minutes all process completed and you see below confirmation page.
That’s it fellas, make sure the USB has the file simply opening it and you get no error during entire process. It’s quite simple to follow and time saving, so enjoy!
